Rather than expanding the city's boundaries, however, it is necessary to embark on the development of already defined blocks or vacant-lots. At the same time, in a time of rapidly changing demands of the population, it is appropriate to consider the possibilities of variability of the buildings themselves in order to respond flexibly to the situation. The diploma thesis deals with the topic of social housing and the possibilities of its variability - as a tool for regulating rental prices in Brno. The result is a modular gallery building on Francouzská street. The parterre is dedicated to the catering facilities and community clubhouse linked to both the street and the courtyard.

NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner
Habancová, Anežka ; Šárka, Jan (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
Project is based on the fact that the parcel is currently vacant lot corner. In this case, it was logical to fill the resulting vacant lot and so complete the existing street parter. Another factor that influenced the design, the absence square around the site. The result is a complex of five separate residential buildings on the same ground raised ground floor, which creates a residential area on the roof, thereby reducing the final height of residential buildings. Breakdown mass was slightly influenced by the shape of battlements - The space between buildings give the possibility vistas, broken mass into smaller units and allow the penetration of sunlight across the facade of the existing buildings. Connecting the base with a residential building on the first floor is supported by material facades modulation, creating a distinctive line orbiting the border area and emphasizing the integrity of the complex.

The aim of this project is to search how the lokality should look like without it. The other topic is new usage of postindustrial structures for living in the city. I am looking for options how to create public space where walking is emphasized. I am also interested in topic of gallery house as a structure with wide range of semipublic and semiprivate spaces. Using this topics I am trying to present my own opinion on contemporary city.
